In addition to being a live performance dance company, Fuerta is a platform for film, both in the genres of dance film and documentary style work. Alyson Quigley, co-director of Fuerta, is the primary head of film projects. Film allows for altering the window of the observer, and experiencing dance in an entirely new way. Join us as we challenge audiences in this new age of art and technology.
The Fuerta Dance Company creates work both in live dance performance and dance for film. While the styles of movement set by our two artistic directors and guest choreographers may vary, they all seek inspiration from human experience and carry raw, personal undertones that remains prevalent in all of Fuerta's dance work. Meg and Aly have been creating dance pieces for the past 7 years. Their work has been presented by the New Movement Project, Graffiti Dancers, Covington Regional Ballet, and Atlanta's Dance Canvas. After premiering their first full length show, "(luna)tics," in June of 2015, they are currently working on their second show, "En la Mente," to premiere in summer, 2016, and continue to be inspired by the feminine strength which started "Fuerta."
